One is the floating bedroom above and the other is a private bedroom downstairs. I also like the fact that each of these lofts has its own yard and carport.
The Barrio Metalico lofts have a lot of green features as well. They are TEP certified homes. They each have a water harvesting system, R-48 insulation and exceed the required energy code by at least 25%. The loft’s vehicle entry gate uses a solar panel (see photo below). Also, each loft is plumbed for solar hot water heating. Around the lofts lie reused wooden fencing used from the Ice House Lofts project.
The lofts are bright and open on the inside. As well as fifteen foot high ceilings and calculated window placements. Stained concrete floors, modern kitchens and steel stairways mix together to create a very warm, comfortable space.
